I just had a flashback to the notes class our HS had us take before 9th grade. We learned Cornell notetaking.
What's funny about that is that none of the 4 people in my life who went to Cornell knew about note-taking. My college sophomore was tortured by having to turn in extensive Cornell notes for APUSH. I had never heard of it so I looked it up to ask my family about it. Now that he's at college there is nothing like the notes busywork imposed by his high school. He loves that. His grades are still good. Things have changed because of computers. A lot of profs share digital files of slides that you can annotate in class. They want you to listen to them talk instead of notetaking. It takes away an excuse to be looking at the computer instead of the prof.
