I have never heard of Maven. It looks like they are more counseling than testing focused. Mindwell is excellent. They produce very clear and thorough reports. We have used many testers including Children's and Stixrud - Mindwell provided the best report.
Just seconding the information on Mindwell. We had my son tested and I was blown away by how specific the results were. He is generally very bright and tested well but has a very specific phonological processing disorder that impacted his ability to learn how to read and also his writing and spelling. It was very helpful to understand the issue that by itself was very narrow but conversely had a broad range of impacts.
I posted this in the other thread (the zombie thread). My ADHD/Dylexia/high IQ kid was evaluated by Dr. Corliss at Mindwell when 6 or 7. It was a fantastic report and got us very far in public school. She left, doesn't do evals any more and Dr. Varia was suggested to me. That eval was awful, so awful that we didn't even use it. I'm still pissed I wasted that money. Kid ended up with a great IEP due to teacher, case carrier and tutor input.
