That is an interesting point, and one I considered. How much of Hilton Head essentially "shuts down" after labor day? We want to hangout at the beach and find a cool bar to grab drinks. Probably do a little sight seeing. Hopefully that's still available. I imagine it may just be like other locations and instead of being totally closed, their hours are just shorter.[/quote]

We have a house there. Nothing really shuts down. There are a significant number of year round and split (weekend HHI, weekdays NY/DC/Boston/Atl/OH) residents there. Some places cut their hours back. And some may close 1 or 2 nights a week instead of operating 6 or 7 days.But it doesn't shut down.

There is zero consistency with food or service on the island.You can have a great meal at a lot of places and then the next night go to the same place and have awful meal.

Its a great time of year to go, the beach is great then still very warm and thinner crowds, less waiting for dinner.   Feel free to ask any questions.
