My student has already taken 2 APs for English and isn’t really interested in  taking the third.  They’d prefer to take the electives.  It seems dumb to force this kid to now take Honors English 12, when the electives fulfill both the spirit and technical graduation requirements.[/quote]

It sounds like your school sent your child on a weird path- or your child registered without thinking about the big 4-year picture. The AP’s are supposed to replace English 11 and 12, not 10. Why did your child not take English 10? Regardless, you should be able to determine which dual enrollment classes will fulfill the requirement if she does not want English 12. There should be a teacher in charge of the dual enrollment that should have that info.[/quote]
