I weaned off it over the course of a month. I quit altogether six months ago and the scale has not crept back up. The drug re-set my brain. Before, feelings = food. Celebrating with food, comforting myself with food, entertaining myself with food. Now I don't automatically associate every emotion with a reason to eat. I'm also better at stopping after a single portion, rather than having another just because it tastes good, or because others are eating more, or whatever.
Come back to us in a year.
Sure, what's your email? Oh, you don't want to put your name to a snarky, dismissive post? Huh, weird. I have no illusions about this being a forever state of affairs. Nothing is, except death. My doctor and I agreed that I'll probably be doing six months on/ 18 months off for the next decade or so. And when peri/ menopause is over, we'll see where the metabolism settles out.
