The problem for this is that you will have to go from Bradley terminal to T7 for United, and I don't think you can recheck your bags at Bradley, you have to lug them with you to T7.  That's a 15-ish minute walk outside along sometimes crowded sidewalks, or a possibly backed up traffic nightmare on a shuttle bus around the 2nd half of the LAX horseshoe.

If you didn't have checked bags and know you can get through passport control quickly because of GE, I'd say it's very tight but possible, because you also wouldn't need the time to drop them off at United.
