Biggest gut punch in my journey as a lawyer was finding out how utterly crappy so many judges sitting on the bench in rural America are. I happened to have a penchant for rural life, but the justice system is pretty awful in a lot of small towns and medium cities depending on the state/commonwealth one resides in.
