I primarily use my fp for chopping and slicing. [/quote] Yup. That is what i use it for as well. For heavy duty puree I use my work horse the Vitamix. FPs made now a days are nothing like our mother's. I would not use them for hummus or large batches of dough. Hower it is perfectly capable of shredding and slicing with efficiency.[/quote]
