Do you leave them plugged into the wall socket all the time or do you unplug it after each use? We use a 110 outlet and it's a pain to unplug due to its location in the garage. Also I worry I will loosen the plug over time.
So you plug it in when you need to charge. Once or twice a week depending on how much you drive and how many miles per charge your car gets. A 110 will be slow. Depending on the car and how low the battery is it could take a full day. A level 2 charger will charge an empty battery to 80% in 5.5 hours. A level 2 charger for your home is the same as what an electric dry uses. It has the weird looking plug. Most home chargers are now 240v with 60 amps. Some are 100 amps. The average installation in the DMV is $500-$3,000. It depends on what they have to do and how far your box is away from the area you want the plug. If your box is far away and you have to upgrade your box it will be on the higher side. If your box is in the garage and you want the plug close to it lower side. We have two EVs, charge once a week- ie only one car charges each week. It’s about $8-9 a charge at home. If you use public chargers watch the pricing. It seems like a lot but it is super easy. You plug it when you get low. It like 98% of the people, who buy an EV do not want to go back to a gas car.
