Whose horrible idea was it to cluster all the ADHD kids together in one classroom? My child has had a HORRIBLE year because of these kids - lots of teachers (not just the homeroom teacher) yelling at the entire class for the behavior of a small group of boys. One or two per room would be fine, but clustering 6-8 ADHD kids together one classroom with a new, young teacher who doesn't know how to manage them is truly cruel to the other students.
How do you know they are ADHD? I doubt this was deliberate. What grade is this? FWIW, I was a new teacher once and also had difficulty at first. I went on to do fine with classroom control, but some years, the chemistry of the class is just "different." Sometimes kids play off of each other. And, the teachers are very limited today in what they can do to stop it. When I taught, a few minutes out of recess did wonders. Teachers are not allowed to do that now.
