I have been dealing with this for almost a year. Never assumed it was from MR bc I’ve used it way longer. I’ve switched out shampoos. Ive talked to my hair stylist. And nothing has helped. I thought maybe it’s bc I wear a lot of hats, have a lot of thick hair and I sweat, so I thought maybe that was causing it. Nope. Nothing else has changed so I’m wondering if all of a sudden I’m allergic to the hair color? I’m over it. Guess I’ll switch it up and see if that helps.
If it is itching consistently and not just on the day of/few days past dying, then it’s not likely the hair dye. It’s probably a fungus you have on your scalp or eczema/psoraisis. However, if you are getting the itchiness when it is on your scalp and/or in the day or two after application then it’s most likely due to the dye. Madison Reed is actually one of the more gentle brands. There are some other lines out there that also have few ingredients that cause people to react so you may want to look into them. There’s another trick that if you put sweet and low mixed with a dye, it makes it less reactive to your scalp. Sounds weird, but some people swear by it… My family owns a hair salon for what it’s worth. A few ladies come in with their own sweet and low packs lol
