Speaking of policies not shared with referees, I was doing an ECNL game about a month ago and the center referee had to stop the game to warn to the home team coach about complaining. The visiting team coach said...ECNL made an announcement this year that if a referee has to stop the game to speak to a coach about his behavior, it is an automatic red card.  I told the visiting coach that no one has shared that announcement with me or any referees that I know. To this day, I'm not sure if he was serious. So who knows. These policies go in one ear and out the other.[/quote]
