If you read my post, then you know that there's been a lot of discussion within the Tufts community -- of which I am a member -- about the *university's* response to this incident. A petition that had 1500+ signers as of last night (not me). I am not *singling out* Tufts -- I am echoing posts by, say, Columbia grads, which *you* allowed for pages and pages *in the college forum*, to discuss the Columbia administration's response to student activism. You seem to have a double standard here, and I am not sure why, but my intentions are to provide prospective parents -- and fellow Tufts community members on DCUM -- with the same kind of discussion as you provided the Columbia community over the past year. My sticking point is with *your* burying the topic and insisting that it is purely political despite *not* holding the same standard to similar discussions of activity at other universities and colleges. But, as you often note, it's your private website & you can do as you see fit. I'm just disappointed in you -- which is why I didn't drop it, honestly. Sucks to have your heroes be human after all!
You are being disingenuous. I am not aware of any thread in the College forum about the abduction of the Columbia student. There was a wider discussion about Trump's crackdown on Columbia that I locked. I really don't have time to discuss this, but you are trying to compare one university administration's reaction to a government-sponsored kidnapping to another university administration's reaction to ongoing activism on their campus. Those are apples and oranges. You are also wrong that I am burying the discussion. The Political forum has far more activity than any other forum on the website. It sometimes has more traffic then the rest of the website combined (that is not as true these days due to the massive increase in interest in the jobs forum). If you would simply participate in the thread, it would get plenty of attention.
