I understand the necessity of testing on animals to protect human safety. I don't see any justification for inhumane practices beyond the necessary testing. Tiny crates, surgical procedures without anesthesia, poor animal husbandry... all of that is a choice, not a must. If you're going to raise and/or use animals for testing, you should at least meet a basic standard of care and hygiene for them at all times.[/quote]
