My player accepted an offer a couple of weeks ago for the 2025-2026 year with team 1. We paid the deposit. We now have a later-arriving offer from team 2 which may be a better fit. Besides losing our deposit, are there any prohibitions against withdrawing an acceptance months before the beginning of the 2025-2026 competition year?
it might not be considered a deposit - did you read the fine print? most clubs view it as a whole year commitment and it's an installment plan paid over the course of the year, but you're on the hook for the whole thing.
They’re not on the hook for anything - your predatory practices are one of the reasons youth soccer in this country stinks
I can't trust what you say in the first statement because your 2nd statement is so blatantly wrong. My predatory practices? I'm not affiliated with any club, i don't work for any club, I've never worked or been paid by any club for anything, in fact I'm the one doing all the paying in the "relationship". Now i have signed agreements with clubs in the past, that state that it's a whole year commitment, so I'm speaking from my own experiences - if you can't accept that, then don't comment, you didn't bring anything to the discussion.
Cool story bra
