ECNL mid-atlantic is a joke.  It's Arlington, VDA and Richmond.  In Virginia, very other ECNL team is a dumpster fire.  North Carolina is not much better.

What you saw today was Edward John Smith hitching Arlington to a sinking ship.  MLSNext has far better funding, infrastructure and player pathway than ECNL.  Period. Full stop.

At what point do league defections hit critical mass, where Arlington looks in the mirror and utters: "uh oh".  ECNL is already desperately trying to stem defections after losing NVA/Loudoun by allowing for the creation of a Frankenstein FOUR CLUB team called Fairfax Union, version 3 (in as many years).  It's embarrassing.

But at least Arlington will continue to place at or near the top in a watered-down ECNL.  Until one day in the not too distant future, the club wakes and realizes they've become McLean. [/quote]
