It may or may not cause psychosis in any given individual.  It may or may not cause cognitive damage.  I think, however, that long-term use will almost certainly have negative side-effects.  Remember how long Big Tobacco tried to hide the devastating effects of smoking?  Smoking marijuana, like smoking tobacco, carries many of the same risks, with the added bonus of mental impairment.  Moreover, like smoking tobacco, those exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke are also exposed to toxins that put their health at risk.
