State Super should have intervened immediately. The amount of leeway parents have give towards school system and the "system" is appalling. Why haven't parents and (where the F are the teachers & staff unions?) gotten an action suit together? Students and those who are responsible for the care of the students during school hours have a RIGHT to learn/work in a safe environment! Wow. Wow. Wow. How many fking lockdowns do these teens need to go through fking MCPS??![/quote]

Here's the ugly truth:

MCEA is complicit in the poor state of safety and security because they believe that talking about student behavior, criminality, and violence in schools will result in right-wing takeovers of schools. So they stay quiet or don't support members who raise this as an issue.

The problem is ignoring these problems will actually encourage and justify the very thing they're fearful of. [/quote]
