An alternative point of view: daycares have codes that you are supposed to punch in to let yourself in. The lack of security at some daycares, based on the casualness of letting people in without having to punch in a code, is a big pet peeve of mine. At a daycare we were in out of state, no one could hold the door because each person had their own code, which would then unlock the door and print out a "receipt" at the front desk, that you then took to your daycare room to check in. This is a way better system. The daycare we're in now has the same code for everyone and it drives me nuts. That's basically no security at all.

So while I agree that it would otherwise be a rude thing to do (and I still hold the door for people despite this being a huge pet peeve of mine), for some people it may just not be something they're comfortable doing.[/quote]
