When you lose you passport in Paris, that's who you contact, the US Embassy in Paris. I worked with the Embassy in Pakistan to help retrieve my relative, who was working with an NGO and who had been kidnapped. She got out safely. All they wanted were her electronic devices, apparently. The driver did not fare so well.[/quote]
