I found this discussion with Ezra Klein helpful - he points out that DOGE is losing all their court cases, people are starting to respond through protests and calling the Senate. We still have the power.

In an earlier Ezra Klein clip, he had pointed out Steve Bannon's "muzzle velocity" and that if they were going to shock-and-awe the way through this "state capture," then they had to keep up the momemntum.

They haven't. They got stalled by underestimating both how the federal workforce would react to a honey trap, and how complicated this system they are trying to rip down would be. The courts are catching up. Probably just as importantly, they were unable to capture the narrative about federal government across the country.

They won't get it back. They might be able to ram more damage through, but it won't be in the way they expected, and with as little resistance they had anticipated. People aren't staying on the back foot. This is not good for them.[/quote]
