Older boy got NNAT 160, CoGat 144, and WISC 154, had to go through the appeal process two years ago. Younger one just got NNAT score back at 160. Hopefully don’t have to go through appeal next year.
This place is so wild. We had very similar issue with VERY similar scores (moved here in his 6th grade) and chose not to appeal bc of child's anxiety. Ended up making him super anxious because the coursework was so unchallenging and now he's just accelerating math on his own and the science and history teachers give him the AAP work. We later discovered the issue was the teacher narrative - teacher just thought my kid wasn't smart because he didn't talk [the anxiety was SEVERE]. Looking forward to HS next year when we're done with FCPS' refusal to give appropriate work to the right kids. I know this is a digression but seriously - these outcomes shouldn't be happening.
