I just started this season and am a bit taken aback... I had thought of Germany as quite progressive and forward thinking but many of the men seemed misogynistic and entitled. Has anyone else been watching and what were your thoughts?
It would make for pretty boring television if they picked progressive and forward thinking men. No one wants to watch normal people "date and fall in love". They want drama and ridiculous scenarios.
So theyre basically forcing women be traumatized by dysfunctional, angry man babies for entertainment purposes? Now that's F-ed up.
I don't think any of these women sign up for shows like this expecting to meet a wholesome Prince Charming. It's a dating show where they are going to want ratings. You have to know what you're signing up for by this point (I give a pass to people when dating shows and reality TV first came out) but by now everyone knows that they not only look for certain people that will cause "good tv", drama, and all that but will also create situations and scenarios to create conflict and "good tv". So no one is forcing these women to be traumatized. They are choosing to sign up for a reality dating show.
