Seeking some advice on where to move to! DH and I moving back to MD after spending the past ten years out of state and are looking to buy in either Urbana or Kentlands. We have a 2 yo, and grandparents live in Frederick. From what we can tell, Urbana has urbanized quite a bit in the past ten years (Frederick too). We like that both communities are walkable. Elementary school will be become important in the near future (possibly middle). And quality daycare options in the very immediate future. Urbana would be easier for visits with the grandparents, especially as it seems like there is traffic at all hours on rt 15 these days.... But we like the Asian food options that are down Rockville Pike (doesn't seem like there are a lot of options in fredco?), and it seems like there might be more "going on" / kid friendly things to do in MoCo? E.g., mygym, parks, closer to zoo/museums in DC. House wise, we think 2500-3000 sq ft is a good size, 3-4 bedrooms so we are ok with a townhome. Pricing in both communities is not an issue, although it would be nice if we buy in an area that will still be desirable when we sell 10+ years from now.
