I love to snorkel, and it's one of the reasons I chose the island. We're with friends that are afraid of the water. I'm hoping to convince them to try snorkeling off the beach, as they'd feel more in control/less afraid if they can put their feet down on terra firma if they feel uncomfortable.

I'm have tried an intro dive or two, but don't really know how to scuba. Hoping to get my certification in time so I can use the trip for my open water dives.[/quote]

Please make sure they know not to put their feet down on the reef. It kills me when I see people doing that.[/quote]

No chance of that happening. I'm hoping to convince them to go deep enough that if they sit (obviously not on the corals), their face will be submerged, and they can see a few fish. [/quote]
