If you have really big boobs, you’re potentially dealing with a short distance between the bottom of your boobs and your natural waist. If you have a dress that already doesn’t have room for your boobs, the boobs will pull the waist up even further. So you can end up with just boobs and a belt underneath. Which is not a good look. For me, it’s great when a dress has a visual waist detail, like a horizontal band or colored princess seam lines or something like that. But a loose dress with a tie belt almost never works properly. I always laugh a little when someone says the clothes should “give you a shape” because like, I’m bringing enough shape! I have shape to spare! Audrey Hepburn can have a petticoat and a belt to “give her a shape” and that’s great for her. I have more of a draped in a sheet, being fed grapes kind of body.
