Sadly, no. I have a monster Cuisinart food processor. To me, this is essential for making hummus, pie crust, pesto, other sauces and chutneys. I cannot do those in a blender. Then I have a basic immersion blender (not high end), which perfect for milkshakes, soups, and smoothies. Between these two I can make most things
OP here. Thanks - I used to have that monster Cuisinart food processor as well as a Vitamix so I know what it's all about. I'm not looking for a blender to take over a food processor's duties because that won't work. Rather I'm looking for an appliance that has interchangeable modules for each. I've seen a model or two, just haven't used one and was hoping someone could. On a side note, is your immersion blender able to handle frozen fruit for smoothies?
No, my immersion blender can’t do frozen solid fruit. The only appliance I’ve personally seen that can act as a blender and a food processor is a Theromix. I have a German friend (I believe they are popular in Germany) that swears by it. I’ve seen her use it and it is pretty extraordinary. However it is very expensive looks to be complicated. It has many many functions.
