The four year old is old enough to understand no. +1 to whoever said to cuddle sitting Absolutely no lifting before 3 weeks, 6 would be better
Agree. After major abdominal surgery, you should really only walk to the bathroom for at least the first three days. Every time you walk, it undoes the healing. The pelvic floor can’t recover properly. Lots of women are having problems with this. You really need help with your older children and someone to bring you food. Please reach out to family and friends. Also consider your faith based community if needed. Your recovery is essential. Please do this so you’ll be ready to parent all three, down the road.
I’ve had three c sections at three different hospitals and every one has done everything but mandate that you’re walking the halls in the first 24 hours. The bolded is absolutely untrue, you’re not running marathons but moving sooner than later equates to better healing.
How soon do you recommend navigating stairs?
I was able to do stairs when I got home from the hospital. I didn’t make unnecessary trips but it was fine as long as I took it a bit more slowly.
