Several things :
1) get the belly binder 
2) there's a proper way to get out of bed, kind of going sideways than pushing straight up.

4) really don't lift. Teach your older children how to get into the car seat, the booster chair, etc ahead of time.

The second 2section was way better than the first since I knew what I got myself into, even though it was a failed vbac. I'm not sure what to recommend to you, I'm not sure if really matters that much. Both have advantages and disadvantages and it's just not clear beforehand what's better. [/quote]

Op here. I’m no longer living in dc area. I am in Philadelphia now but an hour into the suburbs. My other two births were in different states as well.  If I can swing it I would definitely prefer not to take strong pain meds as they can cause constipation and I am dealing with that now. Perhaps it depends on the region you live in and what their opioid crisis looks like. I’m pretty sure I asked specifically about c sections during my hospital tour recently. If I end up with a c section it sounds like as long as I advocate for myself I’ll have enough for at least a week. It’s been so long since the first c section and I can’t remember if I was also taking Tylenol or ibuprofen. I didn’t have friends who had c sections and definitely went into it blind.
