OP here - our trip is in summer, so my quick search yielded several flight options. We booked the Pompano Beach Club and are so excited! Their communication has already been top notch.
That's exciting! I'm the pp who suggested it. I hope you enjoy! Also, there's no bad room there, though some may be more updated than others, and there are lots of stairs (it's a very vertical island, which helps guard against hurricane flooding but makes it challenging for people with limited mobility). We always get one of the rooms w a bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room for our kids.
That sounds like what we booked and we are all very capable of stairs! Any tips on favorite things to do there? We'll be there 5 nights, so 4 full days. Also curious how the dinner plan worked. When we visited on the cruise we did the fort by the dock, Hamilton one night (crowded and hot!), Horseshoe Bay Beach, and a glass bottom boat cruise. This time, I think we'll just do beaches, walk that trail, maybe see the caves? It sounds like the kids can fish right at the hotel, which they'll love.
You can fish right off the dock area, and there are mats for floating on. The water is shallow so you can walk way out. The snorkeling from the beach is amazing, and you can kayak out to the reef (you pay for the kayak rentals). There's a fun arcade game room if your kids to want a break from the sun, and there are board games to borrow in the lobby. It's truly such a wonderful place. The breakfast and dinner plan makes it very easy. Everything except alcohol is included. I think technically if you order extra entrees or something you get charged, but I'm not sure if they always do. Lunch is typical pool food, but the portions are generous. Sunday buffet is fantastic. The mixed drinks are great. This has me thinking of when next we can go...
