First question depends greatly on where your daughter goes. At larger, top tier programs of WCAC and ISL, especially at GC or Stone Ridge, there will certainly be cuts.  With 55-75 girls looking to play lax, there isn't room.  At the smaller co-ed privates, even if there is a good Varsity team, there are unlikely to be cuts for JV--just a numbers game.

None of the top 10 programs play equal time, even at JV level.  Top players, and certainly upper class commits will get the most time.  DC-area privates play to win in the ISL AA and WCAC top 5-6.  There will be some variances in the ISL A level and lower tier.  Ask parents of upper class players about their experience. You should be able to get a good gauge.[/quote]
