Fwiw I think the GW labor rooms are already very nice. Not sure what more VIP would bring you.
+1, I had a gorgeous L&D room at GW with a huge window and nice furniture (we have photos of DH rocking our newborn in this beautiful rocking chair right after birth). It was also huge, which I guess is necessary because if there are complications the room can get quite crowded. My recovery room was a shoebox and fairly miserable, though it did have a window. This was 2017 and I believe they renovated the recovery suite after that but I don't think the rooms got bigger. I have heard Sibley has nice recovery rooms. They used to do double occupancy for recovery which would suck, but I believe they are now single occupancy since their last update. A friend of mine had a baby there in 2015 and paid extra for a single occupancy room and I remember thinking how ridiculous it was she had to do that. I've been to Sibley for surgery (non OB-related) and to their ER and had really good experiences since then. If I were going to give birth again and wanted to be in DC, I'd choose Sibley over GW at this point.
my L & D room at gw was also huge and postpartum room tiny-- but i can't imagine caring to pay extra for fancier hospital food (maybe because i have celiac) but would just rather get takeout-- was in the room less than 40 hours including two nights sleep
