If you ask for the VIP room at GW, you can have it if it’s available. It was $150 a night I believe when I had my 2nd 8 years ago. It was very spacious and had a nice view. I was able to order food any time I wanted from a special menu. They didn’t wake or disturb me as much over night. They sent us home with a giant potted peace lily. There were some hotel toiletries in the bathroom. It was still a hospital room. The linens were not nicer. The shade on the lamp was cracked and some of the blinds were broken. The food may have been a smidge better, but it was still very much hospital food.
the postpartum room or the labor room?
Postpartum, I asked one of my nurses about it but she said it was occupied. I did get a nicer room at GW post C section compared to my first when I had a vaginal delivery. Not sure if that was coincidence or being extra nice for the surgery recovery.
