Likely some ADHD as it’s common in the family. Struggles with friends, a bit from the move but that’s mostly passed, home is a fun place though we don’t push her academically at home like her peers parents/we probably should. Doing extra work, caring about hand writing/ spelling, finishing or even starting work. As I type this out I realize getting a diagnosis and exploring medication may be the way. I struggle with trying that path as siblings all adapted well. Also still stuck with the AAP school or honors/regular course work school decision by the end of next week.
You didn't say what middle school your DD will go to. I don't have experience with the big ones, Longfellow etc. At a regular FCPS MS (or regular AAP FCPS MS), stick with AAP. The academics are not that difficult and grades are (for better or worse) meaningless, in middle school.
