[quote=Anonymous]Literally none of these replies is the right way to reheat a bagel so it actually tastes good lol. Do not put it in the microwave and no need to defrost. Im from NJ and just brought a bunch back in my suitcase to California - they taste just as good as when you get em if you do this: -Freeze the bagel *whole*, not sliced unless you want a dried stale piece of bread when you toast it. -When you're ready to eat it take it out of the freezer and let it rest for the time it takes for your oven to preheat to 350-375* depends on the size of the bagel. -Grab any pan with a lip on the edge, place your bagel on it and then add a generous splash of water on top. Some people say boiling, I don't think this is necessary, luke warm is fine, and put it in for 15-20 minutes - again depends on the size and thickness. If you have toppings you don't want to get burned then you can try to loosely place foil on top but I just wing it. - You should have a perfectly reheated bagel, crispy on the outside and fluffy and tender on the inside - if you cut it and it's still a little frozen in the center, place it back in for a couple minutes cut- side down. The hard crust of a real proper bagel will keep moisture trapped in it which is why you do not want to cut and freeze it, and the water will steam it up nice and revive it's original texture.
