It is a very small, very quiet campus with little to do in the city of Allentown especially in its immediate surroundings. If your kid is the type to just be happy with their ECs and not care much about the full "college" experience (sports, parties, etc.) it could be a good fit.
DD is quiet and into the arts and nature. Introverted with a few very close lifelong friends. Doesn't care much for sports or partying. She dances 20 hours a week and wants to continue in college.
There isn't much in the way of Arts in Allentown, but seems like the college may supply enough to satisfy that. Really, nothing in the way of nature.
There is, actually, lots of art in Allentown and the vicinity. Though a car would help access it. There are lots of local colleges with performing arts programs, city orchestra and bands, community theater, artsy movie theater, art museum. it’s relatively cheap and commutable to NYC so draws artists. Easton has a large artist community. Muhlenberg’s campus is in the city but there are large parks nearby, and its not a long drive to Hawk Mountain, the Appalachian trail, and places to hike. The small ski mountain Bear Creek is not too far.
