Do you have good ones near you? I am in FL and here it seems like everyone thinks their trash is a treasure. Went to two antique stores yesterday and they sold used Le Creuset crockpots for more than a new one, tiny Christmas figurines for $20, furniture was crazy expensive. And these were not "fancy" antique places, just your classic disorganized stores full of stuff. On Marketplace and Nextdoor, used Ikea is almost the price of new Ikea and anything nicer is overpriced.
I've definitely noticed this with Poshmark. It is an interesting phenomenon. The price of anything is always what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller, right? I think resellers can get these prices -- that I would certainly never pay -- because there are a lot of ignorant consumers out there who decide to go to the resale shop and get something at a big savings. And they are ignorant of what the prices of comparable new pieces are and don't realize they aren't getting big savings. Or any savings at all really if they are paying 15% less than retail price for a used item.
