Plus while SLC is a quaint city, it's hardly cosmopolitan and it lies in the center of a north-south Mormon island (Brigham City/Ogden to Provo) separated by mountains and a desert (and 100s of miles of highway) from any other city, with Reno, Denver, and Flagstaff being the closest. Park City and the other resorts are nice, and pretty close to the Utah campus, but you'd need a pretty durable car to be making the hour trip up the mountains regularly. [/quote]
