The latest is a video of a "jellyfish" UFO that he showed me, and looking at the video it's SO obvious it's just debris on the camera. I pointed it out how it's obviously fake and he freaked out on me, accused me of not being open-minded.

He also started ranting about how cattle are being killed by aliens. I explained that logically, thousands of cattle die every day, and a certain percentage of those are statistically going to look different than other deaths, but there's a rational explanation. Even if that explanation is there's a sick person out there harming cattle - which is WAY more likely than aliens! And again, he got angry with me for not being "open".

We both have science backgrounds, which is why this is so off-putting and unattractive to me. I'm really questioning his sanity and intellect. To me, this is getting into anti-vaxxer and flat earth territory. I get that it's fun to read about aliens but we shouldn't be automatically assuming everything strange is due to aliens. And yes, I agree statistically there's likely extraterrestrial life out there, but that doesn't mean every weird phenomenon is from them.

I dunno, man. I'm finding the whole thing really unattractive. I can get behind reading about it for fun, but him falling for every video no matter how obviously explainable they are is killing me.[/quote]
