OP: a word about Longfellow: - it is an advanced and extremely competitive academic environment. Both of my teens are fairly recent Longfellow grads; one is at TJ; the other is taking 4 APs and a DE class as a junior. In your daughter’s 7th grade. Algebra 1 class, all the kids will be significantly advanced and are used to an accelerated pace. If your daughter struggles at first, don’t worry. The region serving Longfellow has ample supplementation resources. While we never used any of them, other Longfellow parents have mentioned Mathnasium, Kumon, Tutoring Club, and a few others - all here in McLean.
