Is Friendship planning to open a new school in this area and/or take over one of the low enrollment charters? There are yard signs all up and down Missouri and South Dakota. Maybe Social Justice school? Both Hopes are gone now right?
There’s still Hope Tolson n in Brookland.
For now. Honestly I would not be surprised to see it fold or be closed-- it's up for review this year. Capital Village is on a financial corrective action plan as well.
The Charter Board doesn't seem to be actively closing any schools. Schools will get into trouble and fold but unlikely that it will be because of the Charter Board. Even when there are known, longstanding financial and legal problems, the Charter Board isn't actively moving to major consequences for schools. I don't know what's happening at Hope Tolson but I found it really surprising when my neighbors were considering it that the school is reporting at the board and to parents that 75% of their 8th graders are proficient when it is actually 0.
