I have a relative in SoCal who had a house with a very small front yard, and they built a stucco wall with a beautiful wooden gate that enclosed a front courtyard that blended well with the Meditterranean vibe of the house and the neighborhood. I can't really imagine something like it in front of a Colonial or Cape Cod. It could work with a mid-Century Modern house. [/quote]
