In general, Nike, Adidas, and Puma will be good for the price. Too many brands make stuff that is impractical or not worth the extra money. Your nearest PGA Superstore will have all of these, plus more.

Other random tips:
—Do NOT buy racerback tops. Those work for tennis, but most courses will not allow them. Women should look for sleeveless shirts; no tank tops.
—No jeans. Ever. 
—Fall/winter golf is all about layers. In the 40s, I’m likely wearing a sleeveless shirt, a long sleeve pullover, a thin jacket, and a vest. And as the round goes, I’ll mix and match as necessary. 
—Winter hats are very normal on a course. 
—Most clubs will not require a collar on women’s shirts. Only for men. But be conservative. 
—Hats in a club house (minus the locker room) is a big no-no. Some clubs will relax this for women since hair is a bigger issue.
