I think what first poster was referring to is that muscle is denser than fat. A pound of muscle is leaner than a pound of fat and takes up less space in the body. OP if you’ve stopped intense cardio but still walking more than 10k steps daily it makes sense you’d lose weight. Intense cardio usually drives higher calorie consumption. Walking is moderate exercise which doesn’t drive higher calorie consumption. You are eating moderately and getting substantive steps in so that would drive some weight loss. Whether it’s muscle loss too might depend on whether you had much body fat to lose.[/quote] Muscle is slightly denser but not that much denser.
