To be clear, they didn't work with families to find a solution.  We were told they would come up with something and it would be announced today but there was no MVAPTC/family input.  No one would have agreed to this which is why they kept it secret.  It also requires a medical form which is a problem if parents cannot get appointments quickly.[/quote]

In theory, you already have the medical form.  If your child is medically vulnerable they haven’t been in school this year.  With MVA closing there was no other option except for IIS which requires a medical signature.  I suppose you could have been homeschooling but if that’s working for you, I don’t know why you would go back to MCPS.[/quote]

They want a new form and a lot of kids were denied IIS even with medical forms and doctors getting involved.  A good number did homeschool or do private virtual or tutoring.  Some moved away.  [/quote]
