I volunteer for my daughter’s city wide honor band. So the audience is high school kids. For the various dress rehearsals and extra events, the director puts out a wish list at the beginning of the year. I coordinate volunteers for things like “festival of fruit” or “valentines extravaganza”. Yes, the director goes a bit OTT, but he’s amazing and the band is amazing, and I love this volunteer gig! Normally I bake for about a third of the events, get parent donated snacks for the simple ones, and purchase stuff like Costco trays for the more substantial requested meals.

Anyhow! The event in question is labeled “fun snacks… maybe a waffle party?” We are going to assume he doesn’t watch “Severed” and was literally thinking of waffles with toppings. Which is totally impractical to serve to 100 kids in a high school gym on Saturday. But I think the vibe he wants is fun, interactive, and slightly exciting.

So I was thinking of shortbread or sugar cookie dough made into fingers with some Dixie cups of fun dips. But that seems like crazy sugar overload.
