My white, middle class Hopkins sophomore is having the time of her life but thanks for this…pretty odd commentary?
Interested in hearing more! My kid is very interested in Hopkins, but worried about the lack of social life/fun. We heard nonstem kids and athletes are pretty social. True? Is greek life active? She is interested in international studies (not stem).
She is majoring in math and minoring in space science and still has free time (which is a big change from HS) and teaches swim lessons 2 days a week at a Y in Baltimore. She has great friends and they have a ton of fun. There seems to be a real comradery on campus. Her high school was very cutthroat and the kids like that seem to funnel into premed at JHU, at least according to her. I’m sorry, I don’t know much about Greek life, except the 2 lax players from our high school that go there are in fraternities. It was a last minute addition to her college list that I am forever grateful for!
