Players tend to find a brand and line that is comfortable, and stick with it. Comparing a Nike to an Adidas for buying decisions isn’t really apt because the brands all use similar lasts, the brands tend to had a fit.

Better comparisons are the lines within the brand; like F50 vs Predator vs Copa.

My player is an Adidas player, so DC likes the predator line for FG and Indoor / Futsal. But prefers the F50 for wall-work / homework due to the thinner upper.

Some people say Nikes have gotten narrower. Adidas toe box is small IMO, and Nike too thin, so I’ve moved to New Balance for example.

Best advice is to add on above:
1) go to a soccer store and find your brand, then line. Try them out on the mini pitch at the store. (Dick’s has an awful selection)
2) buy a branock device from Amazon so you can size them yourself as your DCs feet grow.
3) Price shop online and get the best shoe you can afford at the best price. 
4) Don’t go cheap on boots. Anyone who says boots quality doesn't matter until X age, doesn’t understand touch. That said the youth sizes all use one or two sole-plates for their shoes (it’s why the top of the line isn’t $250 but $150 usually). Just make sure you’re getting the better sole plate if you have to value engineer your purchase. FWIW Nike has a lifetime guarantee on their shoes, if Nike is the line DC likes, use it religiously to replace shoes that wear out early.[/quote]
