You'll get very different answers on the Food forum than you'll get on the Diet forum. Check both. I found some success with a combination of the two. Focus on whole grains, not protein. I have oats for breakfast nearly every day, and a greens and grain bowl with legumes for lunch. It works for me. It has to taste good. If it doesn't, you won't stick with it.
This is the key for me. I always try to start with a nutritious mostly vegetarian breakfast (when I eat it) and/or lunch. Then I’ll add upgrades to make it interesting, like lots of fresh herbs, interesting spices (Burlap & Barrel has some great ones), or crunchy toppings like toasted pine nuts or pepitas. Last night I made my DH’s favorite sausage and vegetable pasta, which I’m sick to death of. I put a small serving on top of a spicy micro greens blend, and topped with some garlic sauce (toum) leftover from a Lebanese Taverna order, plus shaved grana padano and garlic chips, and it was really great.
