If your child is invited to someone's party and attends, are you obligated to invite that child to any parties going forward? My DD is in first grade and got the first bday invite of the year to a party of a girl she is not close to who is inviting all the girls (27) in their grade. Last year, we invited our homeroom and a few other kids to a back-to-school party and DD's birthday party. We were going to have another back-to-school party next weekend inviting entire homeroom (16 kids) and a few girls DD plays with at recess. Am I obligated to invite this girl whose birthday party she is going to tomorrow? I have considered inviting everyone in the grade (46) to our party but our backyard isn't huge and I worry about too many people RSVPing yes, especially if they bring siblings. Last year was about the perfect number of kids after inviting her homeroom and two other recess friends.
You’re inviting 16 kids from home room so these are both boys and girls? If just girls, plus the few girls from recess, that’s almost all the girls (you said 27). That is an issue because then you’d be excluding only a few girls. If the home room invite is coed, maybe considering inviting just the girls this year, which sounds like it wouldn’t increase the number of invites that much.
